  • silica gel
  • Preservation through Glycerin

if you want to preserve the plant using glycerin, follow the below-mentioned steps:
  1. Mix a single part of glycerin to two parts hot water.
  2. When the glycerin and water mixture cools, pour into a container
  3. Add the eucalyptus branches to it.
  4. Make sure that there is sufficient water to cover almost 4 inches of the stems of eucalyptus.
  5. Soak it for around a week or more in the glycerin mixture.
  6. Check them for turning slightly whitish.
  7. Once the stems become fully saturated, they will not absorb the glycerin
  8. Hang them upside down to let them dry for about 2 to 3 days
  9. They are all set to be used in your bouquet and other art projects.

  • Use of silica gel to preserve the plant
Preserving by using silica gel is very easy and simple. Still, there are few techniques which you must know before you initiate to make sure that they look perfect once you are done.
Follow the below-mentioned steps:
  1. Cut down the eucalyptus stems to fix them into the container where you shall place them
  2. As per the species of eucalyptus you are trying to preserve, you may place them on the container or maybe upright.
  3. Start to add silica gel all over the entire surface of eucalyptus unless the leaves are wholly covered under the gel
  4. After 5 to 7 days, the plant will get preserved in silica.
  5. Silica gel retains the 3D structure of the leaves.
